Events 2024

Just a few days after the public presentation of the RPX-01, it was time to load up the van and hit the highway: the Formula Student events, the highlight of the season, were coming up. We first went to Formula Student Germany at the Hockenheimring from August 12 to 18, our first event with our own vehicle and the most prestigious one at that. We then went to France from August 27 to September 1 for the first edition of Formula Student France.

Formula Student Germany

As soon as we had moved into the campsite and set up our box, we got straight down to the technical scrutineering. Our goal for this first event was to pass the mech and battery scrutineering and complete the business plan presentation.

After a few adjustments, we finally received the sticker for passing the mechanical scrutineering on the Saturday of the event! An incredible success for us as a new team at our first event. As if that wasn’t enough, we also passed the tilt test at the first attempt and were able to get the second sticker on the RPX-01. And the business plan presentation also went well, we ended up in 77th place.

Despite countless hours of work and effort by our team, we were unfortunately unable to pass the Akku-Scruti. However, a lot of knowledge was gained, so passing was only a matter of time…

Formula Student France

After the weather had already been kind to us at the German event (apart from a brief thunderstorm), this was topped once again in the south of France. Temperatures of around 40°C demanded everything from our team. Our team’s focus this week was on the battery in order to possibly pass the Battery Scruti. So from early in the morning until late in the evening, there was productive activity in the so-called “battery tent”.

We also tried our hand at the static disciplines again, which went satisfactorily. We came 9th in Engineering Design, 8th in Cost & Manufacturing and 7th in Business Plan Presentation.

Unfortunately, as the second half of the week progressed, we had to admit that it was becoming increasingly unlikely that we would be able to pass the Akku-Scrutis. For this reason, the focus was placed on a fitting end to the season. And this could actually be celebrated: We became best rookie and were even able to accept our first trophy for this!

and with that …

And so two weeks full of team spirit, sweat and learning come to an end. Once again, we would like to thank all team members, sponsors and supporters of this season. Now it’s time to gather our strength and start developing the RPX-02!
